As you have learned in this learning journey, SAP’s event-driven ecosystem includes different event sources like SAP S/4HANA, SAP/4HANA Cloud or SAP ERP, the eventing infrastructure with SAP Integration Suite and its SAP Event Mesh, advanced event mesh, and various event consumers like SAP BTP services and apps or third-party consumers.
On this basis, the Event-Driven Architecture from SAP will receive regular updates and new features to further enhance the intelligent enterprise EDA. The interaction of all the needed components to achieve this intelligent enterprise EDA is summarized in the following figure:
As mentioned, SAP Integration Suite, advanced event mesh is updated regularly with new features. So, what’s to come in the near future?
The first starting point to find this out is the SAP Road Map Explorer. When you search in the tool bar for "advanced event mesh", a Kanban board will appear with the road map of what’s to come in the following quarters of the year for the topic SAP Integration Suite, advanced event mesh.
The panels divide the road map into quarters for easy viewing. Each box on the Kanban board represents one innovation, meaning one of SAP’s product features. The innovations are grouped by business capabilities and these business capabilities are arranged alphabetically.
As of now (May 2024), the following innovations are planned as future releases:
As you can see, multiple innovations are planned for SAP Integration Suite, advanced mesh that will be released throughout the year. For example, the proxy support for the Advanced Event Mesh adapter, which enables you to connect the Cloud Integration capability of SAP Integration Suite to a broker in your on-premise or private network. Furthermore, the migration support from Event Mesh capability to SAP Integration Suite, advanced event mesh is planned to be released. This enables you to start out with the Event Mesh capability within SAP Integration Suite for basic scenarios and then easily migrate to the more powerful and feature-rich advanced event mesh solution (SAP Integration Suite, advanced event mesh), when your event-driven architecture grows.
