Let’s explore basic operations you can use to adjust data on reports.
Common Field Operations and Their Purpose
Operation | Purpose |
---|---|
Show Field On | Move a field on the pivot table. For example, move Active Suppliers from a page field to a row field. |
Show Field On → Page | Remove a field from the pivot table by moving it to the Page tab of the Field Browser. |
Expand Next Level | Expand the currently displayed field to the next level of the hierarchy to view finer detail. For example, view levels 1 and 2 of the UNSPSC taxonomy to break down spend by Commodity. |
Select Starting Level | Select the hierarchy level for which you want to see report data, without viewing higher-level groupings. Change the report's view by selecting a different starting level from the menu. For example, select level 2 of the Region hierarchy to view active contract workspaces starting by country, bypassing their parent-level global regions. |
Select Level, Values | Filter the report by specific hierarchy values. For example, update the report to show data for only a particular Common Supplier. You can include or exclude multiple values. Filtering only affects the current view. For instance, if a report shows the latest year's spend, using Select Others further narrows the data. After setting a filter, it can be a one-time use or saved for future reports and shared. Saved filters are tied to the hierarchy, not just one report. They can be applied to any report with the same hierarchy and adjusted as required. |
