Explaining Inspection Checklists

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain central concepts of Inspection Checklists

What are Inspection Checklists?

In the inspection checklist process a maintenance order creates a list of technical objects (object list), for which QM inspection lots are automatically assigned (checklists) - based on a set of master and customizing data.

For the inspection lots results are recorded and compared to the defined tolerances. Based on the result, a usage decision is made for each technical object.

The graphic shows a maintenance order with an object list and assigned inspection lots which appear in the Checklist view.

Classification is used to determine the technical objects for which an inspection is to be performed - and also to automatically determine the appropriate inspection plan for each object - providing the necessary inspection characteristics.
