Configuring the Job Posting Template Base Information

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to configure the base information for a Job Posting Template.

The Job Posting Template

The Job Posting Template is a crucial piece of the contingent labor puzzle. In fact, a user is unable to create a Job Posting in SAP Fieldglass without it. They contain the default values and information fields that appear when a Job Posting is created.

Templates include such information as Rates, supplier Distribution Lists, and specific rules that need to be applied to related Job Postings. The manner in which they are configured depends on an organization’s procurement workflows.

Job Posting Templates are selected at the beginning of the creation of a Job Posting.

When a user creates a Job Posting, a template is selected and much of the information is defaulted.

When used in conjunction with Contingent Types, Buyers can set up rules and determine the fields that are visible on Job Postings for specific contingent labor needs. WorkingNet, for example, can create separate templates to use when hiring Network Engineers, Programmers, Accountants, or Factory Workers. Each template would be configured for the specific position required.

At least one Job Posting Template must be defined before Job Postings can be created.

Job Posting Template Base Information

Job Posting Templates are exactly as they are named: a preconfigured structure that defines the various data elements, settings, rules, and functionalities that will be available for a Job Posting request that is associated to and utilizes that structure.

Job Posting Templates in SAP Fieldglass are comprised of two main pages: the base information and the accounting information.

The accounting information drives the financial aspects of a Job Posting, such as rates, distribution settings, and rules.

The base information—which is illustrated below as the Details section—determines the specifics of the position it is representing, determining such things as the Contingent Type, the category of the position, job code, and labor type, among others.

We’re going to focus on the base details that define the template and some of the associations that pertain to those data settings.

Configure the Job Posting Template Base Information

Based on the setup of WorkingNet’s worker procurement program, the responsibility of creating and maintaining Job Posting Templates sits with the PMO. You receive a request from Anja to create a Job Posting Template for a new position for WorkingNet’s manufacturing division: Quality Control Inspector.

As the SAP Fieldglass administrator for WorkingNet, you’ll be configuring the new template.
