Creating a Contingent Type

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Explain the purpose of Contingent Types.
  • Create a Contingent Type.

Contingent Types

Contingent Types provide the highest level of control available to buyer companies in determining what settings and standards should be used for specific contingent labor positions. A Contingent Type defines the rules, settings and defaults that control the Job Posting Templates that are then created from it. These settings and controls flow from the Job Posting to the Work Order and associated Worker, all the way through Time and Expense Sheet submission complete into invoicing.

Play the video to learn more about how Contingent Types drive both Job Posting Templates and the Job Postings themselves.

As noted in earlier lessons of this Contingent learning journey, SAP Fieldglass has established new generative AI functionality that aids the Job Posting creation process with the enhancement of the Job Posting descriptions along with the translation of those descriptions into other required languages. The utilization of these AI features can be managed, defined, and defaulted on the Contingent Type object to then be reflected on the associated Job Posting Templates and Job Postings themselves.

Create a Contingent Type

WorkingNet has decided that all contingent labor assignments for their manufacturing division should have Rate Schedules enabled by default. This configuration will account for flexibility in workers needing to submit their working hours based on a day or night shift at WorkingNet’s manufacturing plant based in the city of Kawasaki, Japan.

As the administrator for WorkingNet, you are now tasked with creating a new Contingent Type that will govern all manufacturing Job Posting Templates.
