Reviewing Report Visibility and Permissions

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create a new Report Folder.

Report Folders

In SAP Fieldglass, Report Folders are used to group similar reports for easy access. However, Report Folders are also a means of restricting who can view those reports.

Report visibility is affected by many factors including User Role and feature access permissions. For instance, an organization will likely have different User Roles for Hiring Managers, Human Resources, and the Program Office. Reporting needs across these different types of users will likely vary, so being able to associate only certain reports that cater to specific User Role audiences is helpful. Report Folders are one means of ensuring only the appropriate users have access to certain reports.

Create a Report Folder

WorkingNet Networking Inc., a manufacturer of data networking equipment, would like to organize and group new operational reports its Program Office team uses.

As the SAP Fieldglass administrator for WorkingNet, you’ll have to create a new Report Folder in order to better control who can access those reports. Then you’ll have to associate it to the Program Office User Role for that team.

Here’s how you’ll do that.
