Creating a Home Page Announcement

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create a Home Page Announcement in SAP Fieldglass.

Home Page Announcement

Buyer administrators can create and edit custom Home Page Announcements for buyers, suppliers, or workers.

For example, it may be important that users are notified of a new policy or reminded of an upcoming event.

When created, Home Page Announcements instantly display on the User’s SAP Fieldglass home page. The User can remove the announcement, but new announcements will always appear when published.

Home Page Announcements appear on user's home pages.

Home Page Announcement List Page

There are three home page announcement templates: one for buyers, one for suppliers, and one for workers.

2The Status indicates whether the message is displaying on specified users’ home pages. Active indicates that it is displaying. Inactive means it is not. Messages are activated/inactivated on the announcement details page.
3If the message is intended to display within a set time frame, the Start Date/End Dates will appear here. When the end date has passed, the message will be removed from the users’ home pages, though it will still be listed as Active in the list.
4To view the details page for a home page announcement, select the appropriate link in the User Type column.

The details page indicates all of the same data as the list page but includes a preview of the message itself. You would select the Edit button to revise the message.

5Inactivate is a toggle button. When the message is active, the button is gray and displays the words "Inactivate." Conversely, when the message is inactive, the button is blue and displays the words "Activate."

Brian, the PMO manager for WorkingNet, has indicated that a new system message must go out to suppliers informing them that a Supplier Quick Reference Guide is now available.

As the SAP Fieldglass administrator for WorkingNet, it’s up to you to create and publish that message.
