Defining Other Integrations Functions

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe the options available in the integrations section of the Configuration Manager.

Other Integrations Functions

For further configuration and management over integration objects in SAP Fieldglass, additional Integration Tools are available to assist Configuration Managers in the Self-Service dashboard.

1API Application Keys - The API Application Keys tile allow you to enable, disable, view, and edit existing API application keys and web service accounts.
2Connector Catalog - Selecting this tile presents a list of integration connectors that have been enabled, as well as tabs to access all available connectors that can be enabled and/or configured. This makes it easier to find and access the connector needed without having to search through all of the connectors.
3Monitor Activity - This tile opens the processing details for all enabled integrations. This tile is only visible if at least one connector is enabled in the organization’s tenant. Here, the user can see the activity details for Batch, Real Time, Payload Transport, and Subscription integrations.

API Application Keys

The API Application Key List page provides additional details for the enabled API keys and Web Services accounts.

1API Application Key = This is the auto-generated API application key.
2Client ID = This is the auto-generated client ID.
3Status = This is the current status of the API application key.
4Web Services = In this section, existing web service accounts related to the company display. You can use the existing web service accounts, edit the accounts, or create new ones.

When creating a new API key or editing an already enabled key, only the mandatory Application Name & Description can be edited and maintained.

Connectors

The Connectors List page provides additional details for both the enabled integration connectors, as well as the catalog of available connectors.

1Version = The version number of the connector. Version numbers track connectors that fulfill the same purpose but are built with slightly different logic, such as to exclude unnecessary data in an integration or to transact using a bulk full or delta process, for example.
2Variant = The variant number, if the connector is a variant. Variants are customized copies of standard connectors.
3Status = Indicates the status of the connector. On indicates that the connector is enabled. Off indicates it’s disabled.
4Activity = Indicates whether the connector is for uploads or downloads.
5Last Run Date = Indicates the last time the integration was run. The timestamp format is a hyperlink that opens the Audit Trail tab of the connector, filtered to the details of the selected run.
6Run Count = Indicates the number of times the connector has run. The value is a number formatted in a hyperlink that opens Audit Trail tab of the connector, filtered to the details of the selected run.
7Sensitive Data = Indicates whether the connector is configured to include sensitive data.

Monitor Activity

The Monitor Activity page displays an Integration Audition Trail, showing the status and activity details of connector upload and download processing, transactions for event driven integrations, and payload transport details.

1The Batch tab displays connector upload and download transactions. Batch details also display in the Integration Audit Trail tab on the connector Integration page, and on My Integrations page by clicking Last Run Date or Run Count hyperlink of a specific connector.
2If an organization uses event-driven transactions, you can view the payload from the Real Time tab. These are only applicable for certain integrations and require an integration consultant to set up.
3The Payload Transport tab displays the payload details for those payloads generated through a publish subscribe activity. This tab is only related to the Publish/Subscribe section on the dashboard, which is not discussed in this course.
4The Subscription tab displays the details of integration subscriptions, or scheduled deliveries, between a client’s external systems and SAP Fieldglass.  These are only applicable if specific subscriptions have been defined for a given connector and have been activated.

A number of details are provided through the Integration Audit Trail within the Monitor Activity pages.

1You will need to select upload or download from the Activity drop-down to view the respective connector type.
2Start Date/End Date = You can select a date range to filter for when integrations have run.
3ID = The unique ID of the transaction.
4Start Time = Indicates the time and date of processed integrations.
5Processing Time = Indicates the amount of time it took for the connector to process.
6Status = Indicates whether the integrations was successful or not.
7File Format = You can extract the file in various formats. CSV is the standard format. However, extracting the file as an ASCII text file (.txt) allows you to see formatting errors that could have been caused by opening the file in excel. If the file is an XML or JSON format, Fieldglass also recommends extracting via a text file.
8Details = Messages concerning the status of the integration will appear here. If there are failures, the specific records that failed to integrate will be listed.
