Defining the SOW Details

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Identify the essential operational and Master Data elements for the SOW and select the applicable rules that define its aspects and workflow.
  • Understand how to enhance SOW Descriptions using built-in generative AI functionality.
  • Determine the SOW budget and cost allocation options.

The SOW Details

While each SOW is generated off an SOW template, the specifics of each statement of work will vary from project to project. After selecting the applicable template, the buyer and supplier have the ability to update, modify, and collaborate the final details and terms of each project according to their requirements.

The details of the SOW typically include the project dates, business units, cost centers and sites, as well as some basic rules.

Enhance the SOW Description with AI

Articulating service requirements for SOWs can often be a resource-intensive process. Vague or incomplete project scope and details can increase risk for all parties involved. Fortunately, SAP Fieldglass includes built-in generative AI functionality to assist in enhancing SOW Descriptions.

When creating a new Statement of Work, users can input a series of simple details which instantly generates a comprehensive and detailed SOW Description. This enhanced AI functionality is optional and must be enabled and configured for the specific SOW Type and SOW Templates before it can be used to create SOWs.

Define the Details of the SOW

In the previous step, Patricia chose the appropriate Supplier and Statement of Work (SOW) Template for the SOW she would like to create.

Now Patricia can begin adding the details to the SOW that she is creating.
