Enabling Statements of Work for Independent Consultants

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to enable SOWs for Independent Consultants.

Using Statements of Work for Independent Consultants

Occasionally, an organization may want to leverage the specialized skills and expertise of a self-employed 1099 Independent Consultant (IC) for a project, instead of a costly specialty supplier. For these cases, SAP Fieldglass provides an end-to-end solution to quickly onboard Independent Consultants via the Services module.

Enable SOWs for Independent Consultants

To use this functionality, the Create Statement of Work for Independent Consultants company configuration must first be enabled. This will then display a new preliminary option during the initial step of creating a new Statement of Work, requiring users to determine if they are creating a ‘Standard SOW’ or one for an ‘Independent Consultant’.

Then, any relevant supplier records will need to be updated by selecting ‘Yes’ for the new Supplier Type option: Independent Consultant. This flag ensures they appear in the available supplier list when a new Statement of Work for an Independent Consultant is created.
