Exploring the SOW Characteristic Submission Process

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Explain how a Supplier marks an SOW Characteristic as complete.
  • Differentiate between the completion of Events, Fees, Schedules, and SOW Worker Time and Expense Sheets.

Characteristic Submission Process

When Characteristics are added to an SOW, they must be marked as complete when a set milestone has been reached.

Marking characteristics as complete—and including the completion dates—ensures that all parties have visibility into the status of the work being performed. Also, depending on the characteristics, marking it as completed may also act as triggers for generating invoices or other actions.

Update Characteristics in the SOW

As the project timeline moves forward, Kiri must ensure she updates the SOW any time one of the defined characteristics is completed and the associated service is provided. This ensures all parties have the visibility to the status of the work being performed and allows invoicing processes to be triggered appropriately.

Next, we will see how Kiri updates two types of characteristics: one of the completion of defined events and another reflecting a few completed hours of QA testing.
