Reviewing the Anatomy of a Report

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to run a standard report in SAP Fieldglass.

Review a Reports Run-Time Page

Running a report is a simple yet powerful way to access and analyze data that has already been compiled, allowing you to focus on the specific information you need with just a few adjustments to the filters before running.

Selecting any report from either My Reports or All Reports brings you to the Run-Time Page. This is essentially an overview of the report filters, formatting, and available actions that can be taken.

Run and Review a Report

The best way to understand the kind of data a report contains, and the logic of a report structure is to actually run one.

As luck would have it, Brian, the manager of the worker procurement program for WorkingNet Networking Inc., a manufacturer of data networking equipment, needs to pull a report to review his currently active workers.

As the SAP Fieldglass administrator for WorkingNet, you’d be the one to pull the report for Brian. Let’s see how you would run and review that standard report.

Report Header/Footers

The purpose of adding a Header or Footer to a report in SAP Fieldglass is to provide additional information or context to the report. This helps to provide a professional and organized appearance to the report, as well as to give the reader a clear understanding of the report's content and context- especially if the report is being sent directly from the application.

Header and Footer values are completely optional, and can be added to a report within the Report > Edit screen, under the Output section.
