Selecting the SOW Classification, Supplier, and Template

When starting the process of creating a new SOW in SAP Fieldglass, there are three initial selections that a buyer makes to establish the foundation of the agreement: the Statement of Work’s Classification, the Supplier, and the SOW Template that it should be created from.

First, a Classification is selected, which determines what Suppliers and SOW Templates are available for use.

Classifications allow organizations to align particular Suppliers to specific SOW Templates, so that when an SOW is created for, say, an IT project like the one WorkingNet is undertaking, only the Suppliers who are approved to provide IT services are available to select. Think of Classifications as the Services version of a contingent Distribution List, perse – in that, Distribution Lists control which Suppliers can be used for particular types of jobs.
