Introduction to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, Service

- Three main types of service processes are distinguished: in-house repair, field service and recurring services. You can see exactly what (core) solution processes are available to support these types of service processes.
- Several solution processes are available, to provide additional support for the service processes mentioned under 1. Examples are the creation of service contracts (3MO), service contracts containing configurable products (6GU), and procurement for service management (3NI).
- There are also several solution processes available, that support additional types of service processes. Examples are the solution processes Warranty Claim Management - Supplier Recovery Processing (5HR) and Warranty Claim Management - Customer Claim Processing (63Y).
From the finance line of business, some solution processes from the area of revenue recognition are included. For example: solution process 3M4 is used when the IFRS standards are to be followed and solution process 3M5 is used when US GAAP are the standards to be followed.

On-site service processing in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition typically consists of the steps: create service quotation (optional), create service order, create service confirmation and create billing document.
Various other (optional) steps are also included, like the creation of a service contract, or the use of service order templates.
