Outlining Recurring Services

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to execute a recurring service

Recurring Services

The typical process steps of a recurring services process are discussed: start by creating a service order template and a maintenance plan. Next, schedule the maintenance plan, process a service order, complete the service order, and start billing of the customer.

Note

See what Paige, service manager at H2 Energy Solutions, has to say about recurring services:

The maintenance plan is the central document used in a recurring services process. Several types of maintenance plans are supported. The maintenance plan contains information to answer the question: When does a certain recurring service need to be planned and executed?

Maintenance plans are created based on service contracts, and also using service order templates. These determine on which objects to plan and perform the required services (what/where) and also for which sold-to-party and who is the responsible employee (who). Service items in a service order template are copied for each reference object in the plan into the generated service orders.

On the determined service dates (according to the logic used in the plan), service orders are then generated (output).
