Modeling objects have a key field ACTIVE that can have values 'A', 'I', and 'D'.
The following list provides an explanation of the possible active object activation states:
Inactive:
This status appears before the first activation. It has an 'I' entry.
Active:
After an activation, the inactive record is converted to an Active status. Object has an 'A' entry.
Active and Inactive:
A modification on the active record creates an inactive record.
After an activation, inactive changes are overridden on the active record and a record with an Active status is created, which includes the most recent changes. Object has both an 'A' and an 'I' entry.
Object is reactivated or reverted to active version:
Object has an 'A' entry.
Active and Delete (Pending for Deletion):
When an active record is no longer required, you perform an active deletion and it has both an 'A' and a 'D' record in the database.
Upon activation, the table entry is deleted.
Types of Active Deletions
Master data active deletion
Planning level active deletion
Key figure active deletion
Planning area active deletion
Time profile and attributes
Version active deletion
Master Data Type Active Deletions
Note the following points:
If a master data type is used in planning area, it must be disassociated.
If a master data type attribute is used in a planning area, it must be disassociated.
Attributes assigned to a planning level can be marked for deletion. A planning level can only be deleted when there are no key figures associated with it.
Key Figure Active Deletion
A key figure is only allowed to be deleted when it is not used in other calculations. When a key figure is deleted, the underlying calculations and calculation inputs are also marked for deletion. A key figure can be marked for deletion by selecting the Delete option in the Key Figure configuration tab. The calculation is grayed out Deletion and the key figure status is also changed. Key figures that use that key figure in their calculation acquire a changed status as well. The toolbar provides an option to restore the object, in case it is decided that deletion is not going to be needed.
Once the activation occurs, the calculation is deleted.
For example, the following figure shows how the UNITPRICE key figure is marked for deletion.
