Building a Unique Booking Experience for Travelers

The new Concur Travel solution was launched at the end of 2023, and was rolled out globally throughout 2024. We've worked to create a tool that is easy and intuitive to use. The new tool provides business travelers with a booking experience similar to what they are accustomed to when using consumer booking tools. The new platform allows us to continually introduce new features and functionality to benefit both travel managers and travelers.

Concur TripLink

Travelers often want flexibility and control over their own travel bookings, and book their business travel directly with suppliers. This can cause issues for travel managers and finance leaders as there is no visibility into this spend until it's submitted in the traveler's expense report. To solve this challenge, Concur TripLink helps customers manage travel across various booking channels by capturing itineraries and integrating them into their SAP Concur solution. These integrations provide broad visibility into spend and duty of care, with increased use of company contracts and negotiated rates, while employees enjoy flexibility and ease of use.

The SAP Concur Mobile App

The SAP Concur mobile app is a natural extension of the SAP Concur full-featured, web-based service. The mobile app is available to all Concur Expense customers. The solution allows employees to do the following: view travel details, add expenses to an expense report, create and submit expense reports, capture receipt images, and allows managers to approve expense reports. With an intuitive interface and quick adoption rate, our mobile app helps customers capture more data so they can get detailed, real-time insight into all their spend.

ExpenseIt

ExpenseIt is a value-added service in the SAP Concur mobile app that turns receipts into expense line items and sends them directly to Concur Expense for the customer. It makes submitting receipts, creating expense reports, and getting reimbursed quicker and easier. In addition to the SAP Concur mobile app, users can access ExpenseIt via the desktop solution.

ExpenseIt allows a user to take a picture of a receipt at the time of the expense using an iOS or Android mobile device. It uses various techniques, including AI machine learning models, individual user history, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to read and identify critical values from a receipt. Using these techniques, ExpenseIt identifies the amount, currency, date, location, vendor, and hotel itemizations, even on handwritten receipts. ExpenseIt also predicts the expense type and payment type, and then creates an expense based on this information - all automatically. This means customers can spot out-of-policy spend faster, get a tighter reign on compliance, and better control their costs.
