The Importance of Accurate Data Insights

In today’s data-driven, analytical business environment, companies need insights that give stakeholders real value. The amount of data a company works with can become uncontrollable. Without understanding what each field in each table means, important information can be missed or overlooked.

SAP Concur solutions have always had built-in reporting tools that customers rely on to deliver spend insights and enable informed decision-making. The real value comes when this expense data is combined with existing company data to provide a 360-degree view of all spend whether it be employee-initiated or other spend types.

The Solution

The Data Delivery Service is an automated tool that provides customers with their Concur data. And it’s not just data from today, it’s their data for up to the last two years and all current transactional data. If a leader has an urgent request to update data to make a critical decision, they won’t have to wait until the next day for refreshed data or ask for a manual data extract to be manually added to the system. Ad-hoc requests can be handled much more efficiently. Frequent and automated data refreshes help customers make accurate decisions to positively impact cash flow.

Data Delivery Service

Data Delivery Service from SAP Concur empowers customers to address a wide range of use cases and make decisions in less time and with fewer constraints, due to a steady stream of Concur data flowing into SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud.

The customer benefits are:

  • Accurate, Timely Reports - Takes the risk out of outdated reporting and ensures customers receive the right data when needed, so they can rely on the story it's telling.
  • Corporate Cards versus Cash - Watch for cash spending in categories where corporate cards give better visibility, control, and negotiating power–such as airfare, hotels, and car rentals.
  • Policy Compliance - Solve multiple use cases by combining the most requested expense policy exception metrics into one highly functional dashboard. This dashboard features multiple interactive visualizations that can be dynamically filtered to answer key questions.

How Does It Work

The simple process is:

  • The customer receives refreshed data through their existing Concur FTP site.
  • Historical data is delivered, and then only incremental updates are delivered multiple times per day.
  • Data is delivered in JSON lines format meant to be read and processed by machines (for automation).
  • The customer is responsible for building a pipeline to take in data in an automated manner.
