Managing Footprint Calculations

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to calculate your organization’s footprints, using the emission data of your company to view the calculation results.

Overview

You've seen the overall process steps to calculate the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) scope 1, 2, and 3.3 emissions using energy flow models. In this lesson, you'll focus on the last four steps of the overall process flow and learn to calculate periodic footprints in AlmikaSoft’s Berlin plant.

A flowchart illustrates a process with eight key steps. These steps guide the user through setting organizational boundaries, defining scope, uploading or reusing emission factors, creating energy flow model, calculating periodic footprints, recording energy bills, checking data readiness and reviewing results in CO2 equivalents. The last four steps which are calculating periodic footprints, recording energy bills, checking data readiness and reviewing results in CO2 equivalents model are highlighted with a dotted line.

Calculate Footprints and View Results

The calculation of organizational footprint inventory considers an end-to-end setup and flow, including master data and transactional data imports from the ERP system. It also encompasses the footprint inventory scope, primary and secondary emission factors and mappings, energy flow models, allocations, and more.

Note

You will learn about import of business transactional data and emission factors mapping in the next training.

The video shows the step-by-step process that AlmikaSoft’s Berlin plant follows to perform a periodic calculation.
