Managing Planned Energy Consumption Rates

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to add the planned energy consumption rates if there are no meters in your production line.

Overview

Meter readings are essential for understanding the energy consumption of resources replicated from the business system.

When meters are not installed or if one meter is connected to multiple energy sources because of which you are unable to take a direct reading of energy consumptions, you can use planned energy consumption rates to calculate actual carbon emissions consumed by the replicated resources.

You can use the Manage Planned Energy Consumption Rates application to add planned energy consumption rates.

A flowchart outlining steps for calculating Scope 1 and 2 emissions. It involves data uploading, defining scope boundaries, configuring energy sources, calculating emissions based on planned consumption rates, and analyzing results. The focus is on separating customer product usage emissions for a comprehensive analysis.

In this lesson, you focus on steps 3 and 4 of the overall process flow.

Configure Energy Sources and Energy Carrier

To calculate the actual emissions, you must create Energy Sources that include the actual emission factors.

The list details each source's ID, description, corresponding energy carrier, and plant assignment validity dates. The active tab Energy Sources is highlighted, indicating the focus on energy source management within the system.
