Exploring Backorder Processing

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to run backorder processing

Backorder Processing

Introduction

The following interaction shows you features of backorder processing.

Confirmation Strategies

Confirmation strategies determine how each requirement in BOP runs is handled when availability is limited. Each requirement in a run is assigned to one of six possible confirmation strategies. The assigned confirmation strategies determine which requirements with which priority receive the available quantity. It can result in already confirmed demand quantities being confirmed earlier, later, partially, or not at all. The strategies are predefined in the system.

The following strategies are available:

This interaction presents the available confirmation strategies.

Implementing Backorder Processing

The most important work takes place outside the system. You need to think about the different requirements you deal with and determine which requirements should be assigned to which strategy.
