Examining the Demand Chain Stages

During this lesson, we continue following the Lead to Cash business process. This lesson finishes by demonstrating the demand chain stages. So, we follow the Quote to Order and Order to Cash stages.

For this demo, we continue using our sample business case companies and business roles:

Sales Rep Mike Summers created sales documents for customer Mark Rivers. Mark received an e-mail from Mike informing him about a prepared quote available in the Mega Machines online portal. Mark then accessed the portal and reviewed the quote, adjusting the product configuration based on his discussions with Mike. After confirming the changes, Mark submitted the quote request back to Mike for further processing.

Upon receiving the updated quote, Mike reviewed Mark's selections and made more changes to the quote, adding a promotional feature and applying a 10% discount as promised. Mike then released the edited quote to the SAP Commerce platform to make it visible to the customer. Mark reviewed the updated quote through the online portal, accepted the changes, and proceeded to checkout, confirming payment details and shipping address. After agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, Mark placed the order, beginning the Lead-to-Cash process.

To complete the process, Mike accessed the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Backoffice to review the new order, ensuring everything was correct and ready for processing. The next steps involved initiating product delivery and coordinating payment collection through Mega Machine's Accounts Receivable team, culminating in the full completion of the SAP Lead-to-Cash business process.
