Freezing and Tracking Schedules

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to freeze and Track Schedules

Freeze Schedule

Activate Freezing of Schedules in Customizing if you want to allow app users to freeze schedules in the app. Freezing a schedule is a prerequisite so that schedule execution can be tracked once the schedule period has started.

Schedules that are not frozen are deleted automatically once the schedule period starts.

Frozen schedules are deleted in resource scheduling if a relevant maintenance order is archived (archiving object PM_ORDER). A maintenance order is relevant if your schedule includes at least one order operation from this order.

If you deselect this checkbox again at a later point in time and frozen schedules exist, these schedules are not deleted, even if a relevant maintenance order is archived.

Watch the demo on how to check and freeze a schedule.

Confirm Order Operations

Once a schedule has been frozen, you can start working on it. This means that the responsible person can create time confirmations for the assigned order operations.

If the order operation has been completed the final confirmation is set for the operation. The final confirmation for order operations has to occur within the time frame of the schedule.

Monitor Schedule Attainment

The completion of the order operations is tracked within the schedule. It is expected that all order operations which are part of the schedule are finally confirmed within the defined time frame.

The technical completion of the order as a whole is independent of the final confirmation of the operations and is not tracked by the schedule.
