Quotes Settings View

In this lesson, you'll learn about how to set up quotes.

First, let's talk about what you need to configure for your quotes and where to find the quote configuration settings.

Alan, as an administrator, can configure and customize its usage based on Best Run Bikes requirements.

The following features can be configured:

  • Document Type
  • Item Type
  • Reason for Progress
  • Party Schema
  • Visualization of quotes in the mobile application of SAP Sales Cloud Version 2

Configuring Quote Document Types

Document types define the different types of quotes that can be created, such as standard quotes, or custom quotes. Each document type can have its own unique characteristics, workflows, or rules associated with it.

Configuring document types allows for better categorization and management of quotes based on their purpose or specific business needs.

Alan can configure the following options when maintaining Document Type for quotes:

  1. Create new entries for additional quote document types
  2. Activate or deactivate existing document types
  3. Change the description
  4. Set the default document type
  5. Change the item increment

Note

Customized Document Type codes must begin with the identifier Z.

Configuring Quote Item Types

Item types pertain to the different types of products or services that can be included within a quote. By configuring item types, businesses can define specific attributes, pricing conditions, or restrictions for each type of product or service offered. This customization ensures accurate pricing and availability information for each item included in the quote.

Alan can configure the following options when maintaining Document Type for quotes:

  1. Create new entries for additional quote item types
  2. Activate or deactivate existing item types
  3. Change the description

Note

Customized Item Type codes must begin with the identifier Z.

Configuring Quote Reason for Progress

Configuring reasons for progress provides a customizable list of options that users can select to indicate the specific reasons behind a change in the progress status of a quote. These reasons can be tailored to align with the organization's sales processes and provide better insights into the underlying factors influencing the progression or outcome of a quote.

Alan can configure the following options when maintaining Reasons for Progress:

  1. Create new entries
  2. Activate or deactivate existing values
  3. Change the description

Note

Customized Reason for Progress codes must begin with the identifier Z.

Configuring Party Schema for Quotes

The party schema configuration determines the structure and organization of parties involved in the quote process. Parties can include customers, prospects, contacts, or other entities related to the quote. The party schema allows for defining the relationships between parties, their roles, and the information to be captured for each party. This configuration enhances the ability to manage and track the parties involved in the quoting process.

Alan can configure the following options when maintaining Party Schema for quotes:

  1. Activate or deactivate certain values
  2. Select which party role has to be mandatory
  3. Review the determination steps of each party role and activate or deactivate steps based on the requirements

Note

With the current release, it is not allowed to create a new party schema and substitute the standard one.

Configuring Mobile Screen for Quotes

Mobile screen configuration focuses on adapting the quote functionality for mobile devices. By customizing the mobile screens, businesses can optimize the quote management experience for sales representatives who primarily work on mobile devices. This ensures a seamless and user-friendly experience when creating, updating, or reviewing quotes on the go.
