Creating Reference Operation Sets

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create reference operation sets

Reference Operation Sets

Often several routings use the same operations. Now you are able to define reference operation sets to make the definition of operations easier.

A reference operation set does not allow parallel or alternative sequences. You can assign material components, production resources and tools (PRTs), and trigger points to an operation in a reference operation set. Any assignment to a reference operation set is copied to the routing. Any change made to a reference operation set updates all the routings that use it.

A reference operation set can be created manually. Alternatively, a routing or a reference operation set can be used as a template to create it. If you copy a reference operation set from a routing, only the basic sequence is copied. If you copy a reference operation set from an existing reference operation set, there is no reference.
