Capacity Leveling Using the Capacity Scheduling Board

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to use the Capacity Scheduling Board

Capacity Scheduling Board

The Capacity Scheduling Board is a tool to analyze the schedule of operations and to dispatch, reschedule, or deallocate individual bottleneck operations on pacemaker work centers in a graphical chart.

Access the Capacity Scheduling Board via the SAP Fiori launchpad. Define the area of responsibility and the industry type in the app settings.

The Capacity Scheduling Board is accessed via the SAP Fiori launchpad. In the app settings, you have to define the area of responsibility and the industry type.

Capacity Scheduling Board: Layout

Display the Capacity Scheduling Board. The schedule of operations on work centers is displayed in a graphical chart. The durations of the operations are displayed as bars on the time axis, taking into account the working and non-working times of the corresponding work centers. The operations to be evaluated can be selected exactly using filters. Operations that match all filter criteria are displayed in green and are referred to as filtered operations. All other operations are displayed in gray and are referred to as unfiltered operations. The operations are displayed in different color intensities and with additional graphical elements, depending on the order type and the order and operation status. There is a legend that explains the individual symbols and colors. It is possible to display either the bottleneck operations of pacemaker work centers only, or the operations of all work centers in the defined area of responsibility.

In the Capacity Scheduling Board, the schedule of operations on work centers is displayed in a graphical chart.

The durations of the operations are displayed as bars on the time axis, taking into account the working and non-working times of the corresponding work centers.

The operations to be evaluated can be selected exactly using filters.

Horizon, work center, work center group and plant behave like regular filters. Work centers that do not meet these criteria are not selected.

All other filters, such as product and status, do not affect the selection of work centers, but they do affect the color of the selected operations.

Operations that match all filter criteria are displayed in green and are referred to as filtered operations. All other operations are displayed in gray and are referred to as unfiltered operations.

In addition to this coloring, the operations are displayed in different color intensities and with additional graphical elements, depending on the order type and the order and operation status.

It is possible to display either the bottleneck operations of pacemaker work centers only, or the operations of all work centers in the defined area of responsibility.
