Exploring the SAP Emarsys Program Reporting

SAP Emarsys Program Reporting Overview

Program Reporting enables you to monitor how well your Automation programs guide incoming contacts and provide valuable insights, including:​

  • The program's processed traffic volume ​

  • The number of messages triggered by the program split into channels​

  • The revenue ​generated by the program​

  • Details at program and node levels​

Program Reporting also offers a comprehensive overview of your program's performance: ​

  • Program history with key metrics ​

  • Program revenue generation with revenue-related statistics ​

  • Program details with in-depth numbers at program and node levels​

These statistics can assist in analyzing and troubleshooting your program if any issues arise.

Program Reporting Examples

Here are a few examples when the Program Reporting proves helpful:​

  • Operational monitoring: Use the Program Reporting to confirm that new programs are functioning as expected in their initial weeks. ​

  • Program performance monitoring: Use the Program Reporting page to regularly monitor contact and message-related metrics, such as Entered, Messages Triggered, Finished, and Exited. ​

  • Troubleshooting: Leverage the reporting on a contact-level in Interactions programs to address customer complaints about missed or diverted emails.

Checking the Program Reporting Page

To access the Program Reporting, navigate to AutomationAutomation Programs and click the Reporting icon next to a program.

You can adjust the results at the top of the page in the General Settings.​

By default, the results are displayed for the last seven days. To modify this timeframe, click the datetime picker.​

  1. Switch between Minutely, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly views.

  2. Display contact-level results by entering their email address.​

  3. Modify your program by clicking Edit Program at the top right corner.

The 'History' widget showcases the essential metrics associated with your program.​

  1. Entered: This is the number of times a contact entered the program. ​

  2. Messages Triggered: This is the total number of messages triggered by the program across all channels, such as email, SMS, Push, In-app, and Web Push messages.​

  3. Finished: This is the number of times a contact reached a finish node, irrespective of message receipt or response. ​

  4. Exited: This is the number of times a contact exited the program without reaching a Finish node. The exit from the program can happen due to the following:​

    • Nodes filter out contacts, such as Decision, Segment, Exclude, Quick filter, or Email behavior check nodes. ​

    • Deletion of nodes​

    • Change in program status to Frozen or Fail-safe ​

    • Expiration of the trigger event (trigger event timeout)​

    • Contacts are leaving the program upon meeting exit criteria.​

    • Contacts exiting the program due to the participation settings.​

    • Hover over the "Exited" metric to view details.

The 'Revenue Generated by the Program' widget displays the revenue generated by the program.​

  1. Attributed Revenue: Total revenue attributed to this program​

  2. Number of Purchases: Total purchases made by contacts participating in this program​

  3. Average Order Value: Calculated by dividing the Attributed Revenue by the Number of Purchases​

You can switch to the Revenue Analytics page by clicking Revenue Analytics.

The 'Program Details' widget displays your program and node-level metrics.

  1. Numbers above nodes indicate the number of contacts that pass through them.​

  2. Colored bars above the numbers indicate the following: ​

    • Dark blue: Contacts that arrived at this node and continued to the next one​

    • Red: Contacts that exited the program at this node​

    • Light blue: Contacts currently waiting at this node​

    • Green: Contacts that continued on the ‘Yes path’ of the node​

    • Orange: Contacts that continued on the ‘No path' of the node​

    • Other: This shows various metrics, such as contacts who skipped the node because it was disabled or the program-triggering event expired.​

  3. At the bottom of the widget, you can view the program's settings: ​

    • Schedule: The program's schedule ​

    • Participation: The program's participation settings​

    • Exit criteria: The program's exit criteria

Hint

When you click a node, it displays detailed information and percentage-based metrics on the right side of the widget.​

Here, you can do the following: ​

  • Open the node dialog by clicking the icon.​

  • Access the Email Analysis page by clicking the "Reporting" icon. ​

  • Edit the email campaign by clicking the "Edit" icon.​

  • Review various node-level statistics, including the number of contacts who Arrived, Continued, are Waiting, or Exited at the specific node.
