Showing the High Level Architecture

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe the fundamental elements of SAP Order Management foundation architecture, applying analysis and practical knowledge

High Level Architecture

As we approach the final stretch of our training, I want to provide you with a glimpse into the high-level architecture of SAP Order Management foundation. This overview aims to acquaint you with the basics, recognizing that more technical details will unfold in the upcoming sessions. Despite the complexity encapsulated in the slides, I'll focus on key elements from an SAP Order Management foundation-centric perspective, guiding us from the inside out.

Core Components: Master Data and APIs to create & edit order

At the heart of SAP Order Management foundation's functionality lies master data, seamlessly loaded through APIs. Our purview extends to a subscription for master data integration, enabling the assimilation of business partner information. The APIs play a pivotal role in persisting orders, facilitating order edits, and retrieving order information. This foundational layer ensures the robustness of our order management system.

Persistence and Analytics: Ensuring Data Stability

Delving deeper, we encounter the twin pillars of persistence and analytics. Our system not only stores and retrieves orders efficiently but also maintains a dedicated space for analytics. This analytical prowess equips the UI to visualize and present order information with precision.

Orchestrating Operations: Services in Action

The orchestration service takes center stage, propelling requests seamlessly to external systems. Simultaneously, the order activity service retrieves vital information from the external landscape. This intricate dance ensures a harmonious flow of data, with orchestration orchestrating and order activity service synchronizing with the outside world.

Integration Suite: Bridging the Divide

Our journey extends to the integration suite, where outbound integrations seamlessly interact with various fulfillment systems. A bespoke approach involves predefined packages tailored for diverse fulfillment scenarios. Bidirectional communication unfolds as we publish to event mesh, engage with applications like sourcing and availability, and integrate with the real-time service for analytics cloud.
