Configuring Training Settings for Macro Planning

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create training objectives to facilitate differentiation of training focuses in macro planning

Creation of Macro Planning Training Objectives

As shown in the Introducing Macro Planning lesson, macro planning involves the rough planning of a specific period of time within a season. This is accompanied by the definition and determination of a training objective. This training objective is not yet defined precisely. It will be precisely defined during the micro planning step later in the process. During the macro planning step, only a rough framework for the upcoming period should be defined.

For this reason, macro planning training objectives can be created in SAP Sports One. Later on in the process, these objectives can be assigned to the training phases to depict the macro planning process.

Note

To be able to create and manage the training objectives, you need the role of administrator and the corresponding permissions. An overview of all SAP Sports One user roles is available on the SAP Help Portal (User Roles | SAP Help Portal).

If you have the required permissions, you can create training objectives in SAP Sports One at Training Settings - Training Objectives in the catalog.

To create training objectives for macro planning, please add a category. To differentiate between macro and micro training objectives, we recommend that you create a category that is allocatable to macro planning, such as Macro Planning Objectives. As soon as a category is created for macro planning, it will be available in the active training objective section. The category can be deleted and edited using the menu on the right-hand side.

In the menu on the right-hand side, you are also able to create a training objective for the macro planning objective category. Here, you are now able to create all training objectives needed in your system to carry out macro planning correctly and effectively. These training objectives can also be edited, deleted, merged, and relocated within the categories.

In the tab on top, you also have the possibility to see which training objectives are inactive and, therefore, not yet in use. Last but not least, you are able to search for categories and training objectives by using the search bar.

As a best practice, we suggest the following configurations for macro planning training objectives in SAP Sports One.

The creation of more detailed training objectives is dealt with in the Planning Training Management: Micro Planning unit when describing the micro planning phase.
