Creation of Training Session from Calendar

We have already seen how a training phase can be created in SAP Sports One. This lesson focuses on creating a training session and the micro planning aspects mentioned in the previous lessons. In SAP Sports One, there are several ways to create a training session:

  • Create a training session from the calendar
  • Create a training session from the training list
  • Create a training session from the player's profile
  • Duplicate a training session

Note

To be able to create a training session in SAP Sports One, you need the role of administrator or coach and the corresponding permission on Training Management at Training. An overview of all SAP Sports One user roles is available on the SAP Help Portal (User Roles | SAP Help Portal).

If you have the required permissions, you can create a training session in SAP Sports One at Training Calendar in the home menu.

The following video guides you through the process of creating a training session from calendar.

Creation of Training Session from Training List

It is also possible to create a training session via the training list. In this case, select the respective team and choose Training List or Training Session. As soon as you create a new training session, you will see that the creation of the training from the training list is identical to the creation from the calendar.

After creating a training session, you will see it listed in the training list. Here you can immediately see all relevant information, such as training details, objectives, and intensities. You also have the option of filtering by date range and training type. For example, you can quickly and easily view all trainings from the last week or all trainings of the type MD+1. You can also switch between the list view and calendar view in the training list.

Copy Training Sessions

An added value of SAP Sports One is that it is possible to copy complete training sessions and even entire calendar entries. This saves a lot of time when planning trainings. For example, if you wish to repeat a complete week of training.

To copy a training session from the training list, use the menu on the right-hand side and select Copy Training. Once you copy a training session, you can set information such as the date and the time period. In addition, you can choose to copy all training details, questionnaires, and tracking provider settings. This allows you to decide whether training objectives and training types should be identical or whether only the framework of the training sessions should be copied. You can also copy trainings via the calendar. Choose the ellipsis (…) in the top right.

Note

You also have the option of creating an appointment series directly when creating training sessions. This allows you to quickly and easily select the respective days for the training. This feature was also explained in the video at the beginning of the lesson.

In addition to the function of copying individual training sessions, SAP Sports One offers you the option of copying complete calendar entries. To do this, in the team calendar, choose Copy Calendar Entries. In copy mode you can select the training sessions you want to copy.

After selection, to go to the management page, in the top right, choose Next. Here you can select the day and time on which you wish a specific training session to be copied. After all data have been correctly maintained, to finish the process, choose Copy.
