Evaluating Players and Analyzing Target Validation

As already mentioned at the beginning of this lesson, an evaluation for the players at the end of the season is particularly important. This represents the achievement of a player's seasonal targets and provides information about the player's individual development, which is one of the overarching visions of training management.

After the player evaluation has been carried out, the final assessment for the player can be made. It is advisable to present the assessment using the transparent TIPS scale, which was already mentioned in the Agreeing on Targets at Season Start unit as part of the target agreement. The evaluation can, for example, be printed out directly and serve as a basis for the final target achievement discussion with the player. The TIPS player evaluation in analytics automatically contains the evaluation categories and the assigned evaluation scale used in the SAP Sports One system.

For the final target validation at the end of the season, it is crucial to consider a player's entire season overview as well as the rating of the TIPS categories. Considering both provides more complete insight into, for example, their training and match participation and corresponding performance. It is equally important to focus on other areas besides training management, such as medical or player diagnostic. Furthermore, all evaluation types and skills over the course of the season should be taken into consideration to show actual seasonal developments and provide a fair basis for overall player evaluation.

The artifacts, namely the TIPS Player Evaluation and the Seasonal Player Overview, can be used to ensure that the overarching vision of training management is implemented to best verify and ensure individual player development. The player receives detailed information on how they present themselves in comparison to players of the same age and which priorities they should set for their personal development in the upcoming season.
