Managing Individual Player Training

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
  • Manage the player's 1RM to document players individual highest performance for athletic exercises
  • Create individual trainings for players to focus on specific training aspects as part of micro planning
  • Explain the upload function for individual training to analyze all individual training sessions of players

1RM on Player Profile

As already explained in various parts of this unit, one of the main components of micro planning is the individual focus on the performance of the players. This individuality is accompanied by the area of individual training. Individual training can depict, for example, individual running or strength training. It also covers all measures that are important for load management. This includes activities such as rehabilitation training after an injury or illness.

In connection with this, individual training also includes athletic exercises that are required, for example, for strength training in the weight room. Here it is important to know what the performance values of a player are and how much weight a player can move during a given exercise. The one repetition maximum (1RM) is the maximum weight a person can move for only one repetition before they are exhausted and cannot perform any more correct repetitions. This 1RM can be displayed in the player profile for each athletic exercise in SAP Sports One.

Note

How to create an athletic exercise in SAP Sports One is covered in the Agreeing on Targets at Season Start unit. If you do not know how to do this, please refer to this unit.

Note

To be able to manage the 1RM of a player, you need the role of administrator or coach and the corresponding permission for the person group on Persons/Team. An overview of all SAP Sports One user roles is available on the SAP Help Portal (User Roles | SAP Help Portal).

After navigating to the exercise catalog in the player profile, you can see the exercise folders created before. When you select a specific athletic exercise, you can manage the 1RM of the player in edit mode.

Creation of Individual Training

Now that we have focused on the maximum performance values of a player for individual training, let's look at how we can create an individual training in SAP Sports One. This training contrasts with a typical team training and only includes individual persons or groups of persons. This enables a flexible training management in micro planning.

An individual training is created in a very similar way to a team training. It can be created in the calendar or in the training list. The main difference is that you select Individual instead of Team. In the next step, you are then able to add the players who should participate in this individual training session.

Hint

The individual training only appears in the training list and the calendar of the persons who have been assigned to the individual training.

It is also possible to create an individual training for a specific player directly from the player's profile. By adding a new training in the training list, the player will automatically be assigned as a participant of the individual training. In this overview you can also distinguish in which team, individual, and group trainings the specific player has participated.

Workout Data Upload of Individual Training

It is also important to track a player's performance data during individual training sessions, such as running sessions. Players have the option of uploading the performance data of the training session with Apple Health or Google Fit via the SAP Team One mobile app. This data is then synced directly with the corresponding training session in the calendar and is available in the system for further analysis.

The following videos show how the upload of workout data works from the perspective of a player with Apple and Android devices.
