Maintaining Filters for SAP Ariba Procurement Master Data Integration

In SAP Ariba Procurement Solution, filters play a crucial role in helping users narrow down and find the specific information they need. Filters enable users to refine search results, view relevant data, and make informed decisions. However, it is essential to maintain filters regularly to ensure their effectiveness and accuracy. This lesson will guide you through the process of maintaining filters in the SAP system.​

Maintaining filters in SAP system refers to the process of configuring precise set of values you would like to integrate with a particular SAP Ariba solution for a particular master data object.​ Filters are used to define a specific information to be integrated with the SAP Ariba Procurement Solution based on your requirement.​ It is recommended to configure selection criteria to filter master data records to import into SAP Ariba Procurement solution.​

The master data records can be filtered with the following conditions:

  • Equality and Inclusion: Where Option is EQ and Sign is I.
  • Ranges and Exclusion: Where Option is BT and Sign is E.
  • Patterns and Comparisons: Where Option is CP and Sign is I or E.

Follow these steps to maintain the filters for SAP Ariba Procurement Solutions:

  1. Using the transaction code SPRO, navigate to Integration with Other SAP Components>Managed Gateway for Spend&Network for Buyer>Master Data Integration>General Settings>Maintain Filters.

  2. Expand the Maintain Filters section and select the IMG-Activity for Procurement.

  3. On the Prefilters – Ariba Procurement Master Data screen, choose Modify.

  4. Input values in the following fields, as appropriate. Refer to the resource noted in the Hint for guidance.
    • Variable Name
    • Field Name
    • Type
    • Number
    • Variant
    • Partition
    • Sign
    • Option
    • Low
    • High
  5. Once all the necessary parameters are maintained, choose Save.
