SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance is a comprehensive supplier management solution that enables businesses to efficiently onboard, assess, and monitor suppliers while ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and performance tracking.
SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance helps organizations:
- Automate supplier onboarding and compliance checks
- Reduce supply chain risks with real-time monitoring
- Improve supplier collaboration and performance
- Ensure cost efficiency and regulatory adherence
- Gain complete visibility into supplier operations
All of this results in a more resilient, efficient, and high-performing supplier network.

SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance Integration ensures seamless connectivity between SAP Ariba and other enterprise systems, such as SAP S/4HANA (on-premise), SAP ERP, SAP Business Network, SAP Master Data Governance for Suppliers (MDG-S), and third-party applications.
Buyers who maintain supplier data in SAP Ariba sites that include SM Administration can use the business partner data model to integrate supplier master data between SAP Ariba solutions and SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA (on-premise), or SAP Master Data Governance using the Managed Gateway for Spend&Network. You can integrate supplier data using either Direct or Mediated Connectivity integration methods.
Buyers can use the Unified Vendor Model to integrate Business Partner and Vendor Master Data between the SAP ERP, S/4HANA (on-premise), SAP MDG-S, and SAP Ariba SLP using the Managed Gateway. The integration allows you to replicate Vendor Master Data in the SAP system and SAP Ariba SLP. Integrating SAP Ariba SLP, SAP systems, and SAP MDG-S is bidirectional. It enables you to replicate Vendor Master Data as Business Partners from SAP systems to SAP Ariba SLP and vice versa.

SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance Integration via the Managed Gateway can be achieved without or with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG-S).
When replicating supplier data from SAP Ariba to a single backend SAP system, you don’t necessarily need to use SAP Master Data Governance (MDG-S).
However, when replicating supplier data from SAP Ariba to a multi-ERP environment, you must have a standalone SAP Master Data Governance (MDG-S) in your landscape. SAP MDG-S enables the harmonization of supplier data across multiple SAP and even non-SAP systems.

You can integrate the inbound and outbound supplier data using the following standard services available in the SAP system:
- BusinessPartnerSUITEBulkReplicateRequest_In
- BusinessPartnerSUITEBulkReplicateRequest_Out
- BusinessPartnerSUITEBulkReplicateConfirmation_In
- BusinessPartnerSUITEBulkReplicateConfirmation_Out
Outbound integration from SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA (on-premise) to SAP Ariba SLP is achieved through the standard Business Partner interfaces provided by MDG and standard SAP programs such as the DRF program. The transaction code DRFOUT replicates business partners from SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA (on-premise) to SAP Ariba SLP.
Note
The "In" (inbound) and "Out" (outbound) terms are used from the SAP system perspective.
Though the SAP system has four different web services for inbound and outbound, the Managed Gateway portal has only 2 doc types that cover all four scenarios. These 2 document types in the Managed Gateway portal's Transaction Tracker can be used for monitoring purposes:
- BusinessPartnerSUITEReplicateRequest
- BusinessPartnerSUITEReplicateConfirmation
The Managed Gateway for Spend&Network supports the integration of key mapping between multiple vendor IDs and business partner IDs.
