SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration: Assign Tasks and Manage Exceptions
This lesson will enable you to assign and manage tasks as well as to raise and manage exceptions.

As you have seen, processing a treatment order end-to-end is very complex and involves several key stakeholders working together in a complex and individualized supply chain. Therefore, SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration offers task and exception management as a cross component to help managing this complexity and the exceptions that inadvertently will happen.
Navigating to a Task
To find a specific task or to get an overview of all available tasks, select the Manage Tasks app in the Task and Exception Management section of the landing page. As an example, the results of all tasks that are in status new are shown here. From this list, we pick the first one to review all the available details for this task.

Reviewing Task Details
In this view, we can see all the available details for this task. The key information is contained in the header, here we find the title or summary of the task, its category, priority, and status. We also see which reference object, in this case it is a treatment order, this task was created to, as well as to whom it was assigned and by whom it was created. A task can also have other related task and a To Do List with items which the assignee can mark off as completed. A task can also have comments, attached documents, and logs.

Creating a New Task Referencing a Treatment Order
A new task can be easily created with a reference to a treatment order by navigating to the treatment order in the Manage Treatments app and then using the button Create Task on the upper right. You will be directly asked to fill-out the necessary information and assign this task to an assignee. You can also create a to-do-list and add comments or documents.

Creating a New Task Referencing a Shipment
Likewise, a new task can also be easily created with a reference to a shipment by navigating to the shipment as shown in this example.

Navigating to an Exception
Next, let us have a look at exception management. To find a specific exception or to get an overview of all available exceptions, select the Manage Exceptions app in the Task and Exception Management section of the landing page. As an example, the results of all exceptions that are in status new are shown here. From this list, we pick the third one to review all the available details for this exception.

Reviewing Details of an Exception
In this view, we can see all the available details for this particular exception. The key information is contained in the header, here we find the title of the exception, its type, priority, and status. We also see which reference object, in this case it is a shipment, this exception was created to as well as to whom it was assigned and by whom it was created. An exception will have more details such as a description, comments, attached documents, and logs.

Creating a New Exception
A new exception can be created by going to the Manage Exceptions app in the Task and Exception Management section of the Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration landing page and clicking on the create button at the top of the list of exceptions. This will open up a new screen where all the details for this new exception are to be provided.

Providing Details For a New Exception
Here, you can provide general information for an exception like a summary/title, its priority, the status, start and end date, the required action as well as a reference object. This is also where you can assign an assignee and indicate completion percentage. The exception can also have a message type assigned to it. In our example, the types are error, information, success, and warning.

Further below, you can also provide a more detailed description as well as additional comments. Once the information is provided, you can create this exception by clicking on the button create on the bottom right.
With that, we have created a new exception and assigned it to a person.
