Introducing the Configuration of Rates Using Rates 2.0

Now that we recognize how Custom Lookups create flexibility and efficiencies in the configuration of Rates 2.0, let’s take a deeper dive into how creating a rate structure in Rates 2.0 in SAP Fieldglass has been simplified.

Any organization that has newly adopted SAP Fieldglass will utilize the Rates 2.0 structure. When configuring Rates 2.0 Custom Lookups in SAP Fieldglass, it’s essential to refer to any rate data provided by the organization, such as in the rate card below for Latinum Logistics, a global shipping company that has decided to adopt SAP Fieldglass to manage their total workforce.

The variables provided within this table are the data elements that differentiate the worker rates. By referencing the table during setup, you can ensure the rates are accurately aligned with the corresponding role, site, and supplier combinations, among any other rate value differentiators.

Latinum is planning and building its overall rate structure using Rates 2.0. This involves configuring both a Rates Custom Lookup to align with the diverse roles and rates specified in contracts with their supporting suppliers, as well as a Rate Components lookup to capture retirement calculations that should be applied for eligible workers.

As Latinum’s SAP Fieldglass administrator, you will add rate data for the values negotiated between Latinum and its suppliers. You will need to configure the following admin elements in SAP Fieldglass using Rates 2.0:

  • Rates
  • Rate Categories
  • Rate Component Group
  • Rates Custom Lookup
  • Rate Components Custom Lookup

Over the next several lessons, you will configure these Rates 2.0 elements in SAP Fieldglass.
