Configuring Rates 2.0 When Rates 1.0 is Already Configured

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain the process for configuring Rates 2.0 in a tenant where Rates 1.0 is already configured

Rates 2.0 with Rates 1.0

SAP Fieldglass provides the flexibility to activate Rates 2.0 alongside an existing Rates 1.0 structure. This coexistence feature is available exclusively to current customers who already have a Rates 1.0 rate structure. It is not available for new customers or those using only Rates 2.0. By enabling this feature, your company can uphold its current rate process while gradually transitioning to the new simplified rate functionality (2.0).

When both are enabled, the current administrative objects configured for Rates 1.0 will retain their functionality for 1.0 only, meaning new administrative objects for use with Rates 2.0 functionality will need to be created. These objects, including rates and job posting templates, are specifically designed for Rates 1.0 and cannot be used across both functionalities.

The Process for Configuring Rates 2.0 Alongside Rates 1.0

An SAP Fieldglass representative can enable the company configuration for "Enable Rates 2.0," along with the sub-configuration for "Enable Coexistence with Rates 1.0."

The company configuration details page, highlighting the configuration Enable Rates 2.0, along with the sub-configuration Enable Coexistence with Rates 1.0.

Once enabled, these configurations can’t be disabled.

Rate Structure

When coexistence is enabled, both the Rate section of the Admin menu and the Configuration section is used to manage and maintain the necessary administrative objects to support both versions.

This table shows the administrative objects applicable to both rate structures, as well as those exclusively relevant to Rates 1.0:

While common to both, the Rate Admin Object is used for different purposes in Rates 1.0 and Rate 2.0

All shared administrative objects must be differentiated between Rates 1.0 and Rates 2.0. A new field, "Rate Structure," is introduced upon creating one of these objects. This dropdown is utilized to specify whether the object is intended for Rates 1.0 or Rates 2.0.

List View

When accessing the list for one of these administrative objects, you'll notice a toggle at the top of the list labeled "Rates 1.0" and "Rates 2.0". This toggle enables you to view the objects associated with each rate structure separately.
