Integrating SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud SAP EWM - Outbound Processes

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to integrate SAP S/4HANA Cloud with SAP EWM to execute outbound processes

Introduce SAP EWM Integration - Outbound Processing to Customer (‏2VK‏)

Description

You can use this process to ship ordered goods to external customers, using SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition integrated to SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). This process starts with the creation of a sales order and an outbound delivery. The outbound delivery is replicated to the SAP EWM, where an outbound delivery order is created. This document serves as the starting point for the outbound processing within the warehouse. Warehouse tasks are created with reference to the outbound delivery order, and the physical process for picking is executed. During the creation of warehouse tasks, the system determines the location for picking the stock and allocates the stock to the warehouse task. At the end of the process, the goods issue is posted. The goods issue information is transferred from SAP EWM to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system. Subsequent process steps such as billing can be executed accordingly.

Business Benefits

  • Support your high-volume warehouse operations with an integration between SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and on-premise SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
  • Manage stock on a storage bin level.
  • Provide on-time delivery performance, by automating and integrating warehouse, sales, and distribution processes.

Relevant Business Roles

The following SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition business roles are used for this scenario:

  • Internal Sales Representative (Sales order creation)
  • Shipping Specialist (Delivery Processing)
  • Administrator Data Replication (Transfer between SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and SAP EWM)

Key Process Steps:

Internal Sales Representative
  • Create sales order:

A sales order for a product, available on stock in the warehouse, is created in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.

Shipping Specialist
  • Create delivery:

The outbound delivery is created in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system. The storage location used for sales is managed by EWM. Therefore, the outbound delivery is distributed from the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system to the external SAP EWM system.

Note

The following steps are carried out via SAP EWM:
  • Check outbound delivery order in SAP EWM:

The outbound delivery order created in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is checked.

  • Create warehouse tasks in SAP EWM:

The goods have to be picked and staged in the warehouse using the SAP EWM system. Warehouse tasks and warehouse orders are created for this purpose and assigned to warehouse workers via SAP EWM resource management.

  • Pick warehouse orders:

The warehouse orders and tasks for picking are confirmed by the worker.

  • Post goods issue for outbound delivery order in SAP EWM:

After confirmation of the warehouse tasks, the goods issue can be posted in SAP EWM and is transferred to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.

Shipping Specialist
  • Check outbound delivery:

The outbound delivery and the generated material document, reflecting the goods issue in the SAP S/4HANA cloud Public Edition system, are checked.
