Scenario
After defining the Data Transfer Processes, they have to be executed to load the data. Normally, Data Transfer Processes are scheduled using Process Chains. However, it's also possible to execute them manually. After executing the DTP, the master data-bearing Characteristic contains the loaded attributes and texts.
Execute and Monitor a Data Transfer Process

It's recommended to use process chains to execute Data Transfer Processes. In this case, the Data Transfer Process can, for example, be executed when it is triggered by an event in the previous process in the process chain. In process chain maintenance, you can run a Data Transfer Process in the background and a debug mode is also available. Alternatively, you can execute a Data Transfer Process manually using BW Modeling Tools.

The request is an instance that is generated at the run time of the Data Transfer Process. The request is processed in the steps that have been defined for the Data Transfer Process (extraction, transformation, and filter). The monitor for the Data Transfer Process request shows the header information, request status, and the status and messages for the individual processing steps.
When you execute the Data Transfer Process (DTP), the system asks you whether you want to check the monitor, which is part of the SAP BW/4HANA Cockpit. In the monitor you will find all of the information about the loading process, like the number of records and the total runtime.
