Configuring Business Partner Roles

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to analyze the purpose and key components of configuring business partner roles.

Introduction

You will cover the configuration of business partner roles in the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution. You'll learn how to create new roles, such as Customer, Vendor, and Courier, by providing a unique ID, description, and mapping to an SAP-predefined category. The lesson will also explain how to activate and deactivate business partner roles, including providing reasons for the changes and reviewing the "Where used" list.

Business Partner Roles

In the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution, this application can be found under the Configuration tab or use Configure Business Partner Roles in the open search section to access it. This app allows to create different roles the business partner can perform like Customer, Vendor, Courier, and so on.

Configuring Business Partner Roles

Click on Create as pointed to in the figure above on how to create a new entry.

The Configuration consists of the following:

  • Unique ID of 40 characters
  • Description of 250 Characters
  • Category to map the custom role with SAP predefined partner category

Activation and Deactivation

When a new Business partner role is saved, the status is set to Active by default. At any point in time, the Business partner role can be deactivated by providing the right Deactivation Reason, some optional comments, and reviewing the Where used list. In the same way, deactivated entries can be activated by providing the right Activation Reason.
