Configuring the Setup of an Organization

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to analyze how to configure the various organizational setup elements.

Introduction

We will explore how to configure the various organizational setup elements in the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution. This includes setting up address types, organization location types, plants, sales areas, and purchasing organizations - all of which are critical for modeling the structure and operations of your cell and gene therapy organization. Additionally, you will learn how to create, activate, and deactivate these configuration elements, as well as understand their purpose and usage within the overall solution.

Address Type

In the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution, this application can be found under the Configuration tab or use Configure Address Types in the open search section to access it. The Address Type is to differentiate the address usage like office address, base address, and so on.

Configuring Address Type

Select Create as pointed to in the figure above about how to create a new entry.

The Configuration consists of the following:

  • Unique ID of 40 Characters
  • Description of 250 Characters
  • Checkbox to identify the Standard Address which is considered as the Primary address of an organization

Activation and Deactivation

When a new Address Type is saved, the status is set to Active by default. At any point in time, the Address type can be deactivated by providing the right Deactivation Reason, some optional comments, and reviewing the Where used list (Flow Section Types). In the same way, deactivated entries can be activated by providing the right Activation Reason.

Organization Location Types

In the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution, we can find this application under the Configuration tab or use Configure Organization Location Types in the open search section to access it. The Location Type is used to identify the location where different functions are carried out - such as Treatment Center, Collection Location, Pickup location, Ship-to Location, Courier, Drop Location, and so on. The Location type helps in model the structure of the Organization.

Configuring Organization Location Types

Click on Create as pointed in the figure above about how to create a new entry.

The Configuration consists of the following:

  • Unique ID of 40 Characters
  • Description of 250 Characters
  • Organization Location Category with predefined values as in the above screenshot to determine the function of Location Type

Plants

In SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution we can find this application under Configuration tab or use Configure Plants in the open search section to access it. The Plant is to specify a Processing facility where BS material is processed.

Configuring Plants

The Configuration consists of the following:

  • Unique ID of 4 Characters
  • Description of 250 Characters.

Sales Areas

The Sales area is a combination of Sales Organization, Distribution Channel and Division. It drives the basic sales structure of a company.

Configuring Sales Areas

  • Sales Organization ID
  • Distribution Channel ID
  • Division ID

In the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution, we can find this application under the Configuration tab or use Configure Purchasing Organizations in the open search section to access it. The Purchasing Organization is an entity that handles the procurement activities of an organization; in SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration, this represents the Biospecimen material collection.

Configuring Purchasing Organizations

Click on Create as pointed out in the figure above on how to create a new entry.

The Configuration consists of the following:

  • Unique ID of 4 Characters
  • Description of 250 Characters

When a new Purchasing Organization entry is saved, the status is set to Active by default. At any point in time, the Purchasing Organization can be deactivated by providing the right Deactivation Reason, some optional comments, and reviewing the Where used list. In the same way, deactivated entries can be activated by providing the right Activation Reason.
