Managing Organizations

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to manage organizations.

Organizations

In the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution, the Manage Organizations application can be found under the Master Data tab or use Manage Organizations in the open search section to access it.

An organization is a combination of the Address and Location Type; in turn, the Location type can be linked to the relevant Contact persons, Sales area, and Purchase Organization.

General Information

The organization master data setup consists of the following:

  • Unique ID of 10 characters
  • General information
    • Description
    • License number
    • Country/Region
    • Health industry number
  • Addresses
    • Address type from 'Configure Address Types'
    • Country/Region
    • Postal code

Addresses

  • Creation of new address
  • Address
    • Basic information consisting of Address type from 'Configure Address Types', time zone, form of address like title, valid-from and valid-to make the address applicable with in the validity dates, Country, Region and State
    • Street address consists of elements like care of, street name, house number, building, floor, door number, district, city, and postal code
  • Organization

    Allows to input 4 organization names using the fields Organization Name 1, 2, 3 and 4

  • Contact details
    • Telephone number
    • Email address

Location Types

  • Creation of new location type mapping
  • General information
    • Location type drop down value with source as 'Configure Organization Location Types'
    • Business partner role from 'Configure Business Partner Roles'
    • Reference business partner ID
    • Primary contact from 'Manage Contact Persons'
    • Secondary contact from 'Manage Contact Persons'
    • Address type from the available address types maintained in the previous step
    • Sales area and purchasing organization can be mapped against the location type

Activation and Deactivation of an Organization

When a new organization is created, the status is set to Active by default. At any point in time, the organization can be deactivated by providing the right deactivation Reason and optional comments. In the same way, deactivated entries can be activated by providing the right Activation Reason.
