Managing Therapies

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to manage therapies.

Therapies

In the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration solution, this application can be found under the Master Data tab or use Manage Therapies in the open search section to access it.

The image shows the Master Data section of an SAP software application, with two options displayed: Manage Therapies and Manage Organizations.

An organization is a combination of Therapy Type and Therapy Category that allows to map Organization(s), protocol(s), Country/Region, Indication(s) and Label Types.

General Information

The image shows a form for creating a new therapy in an SAP software application. The form includes fields for entering the therapy name, description, therapy type, and therapy category.

The therapy master data setup consists of the following:

  • Unique ID of 10 characters
  • General information
    • Name - name of the Therapy of 50 characters
    • Description of 250 characters
    • Therapy type configured using the application 'Configure Therapy Types'
    • Therapy category configured using the application 'Configure Therapy Categories'
  • Addresses
    • Address type from 'Configure Address Types'
    • Country/Region
    • Postal code

Organizations

The organizations from Manage Organizations are available in the dropdown list to map the organization to a therapy.

The image shows an SAP software application interface for managing organizations and therapies. It displays a list of organizations, including Cancer Center Organization, Rhythmic Treatment Centre, and Twin Lakes General Hospital, along with their respective status information.

The prerequisite is that the created organization should have an entry of Location type, Treatment center. This can be validated in Configure Organization Location Types with the location type having organization location category as Treatment Center (TMC).

As soon as the organization entry is mapped, the relation ship status is set to Active, which can be deactivated at later point of time by providing the relevant reason code and optional text.

Protocols

A protocol is an indicative free text field of 10 characters used to capture clinical protocol ID. The protocol ID entered in the Therapy master will be passed on to the clinical protocol ID of treatment order header created against the therapy.

Multiple protocol IDs can be linked to a Therapy. If there are multiple protocol IDs maintained in Therapy then protocol ID will be left blank in order header general information section, an active entry from therapy master can be selected from the dropdown in the edit mode of treatment order. As soon as the protocol ID is mapped, the relation ship status is set to Active, which can be deactivated at later point of time by providing the relevant reason code and optional text.

Country/Regions

A country/region entry can be mapped to the therapy to indicate/restrict the use of therapy in other countries. Multiple country/region entries can be mapped to a therapy master.

As soon as the country/region entry is mapped the relation ship status is set to Active, which can be deactivated at later point of time by providing the relevant reason code and optional text.
