Streamlining the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration Onboarding Process

Onboarding

In this module, the main focus is the setup of the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration subscriber account only (without integration) and in subsequent chapters, how to subscribe to the main/additional SAP Business Technology Platform services like event mesh, business rules, workflow, and so on, will be explained.

When a customer's SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration order is fulfilled, an onboarding e-mail/communication is sent to a customer along with an administrator guide so that customers can start configuring the SAP Business Technology Platform/SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration subscriber account (as highlighted), subscribe to the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration application, create instances/subscriptions and configure additional services.

Services Plans

Before you start with an SAP Business Technology Platform account setup, it’s important to understand the various service plans available. SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration provides the following service plans to configure the landscape.

Onboarding - Service Plans

Service Plans in SAP Business Technology Platform

When you create the Global account and Sub account - as described in the next chapter, you can see four entitlements available and under each entitlement: there are two plans available, that is, one of CGT API consumption and another for application access. While choosing the type of service plan linked to a subaccount, you need to select both plans as advice by SAP. This is explained with detail in the next unit.

An Application Plan is mainly used to access the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration portal, which can be consumed by various personas or business users.

an API plan is used to access the SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration APIs and this helps the integration with SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration objects.

Note

If you aren’t able to see the service plans under the service marketplace menu, go to the entitlement menu and look for cell and gene therapy entitlements and add it to your global account and subsequent subaccounts. In case entitlements aren’t available, reach out to SAP support or the SAP Sales Support Team.

Tenant

Customers are expected to create minimum four subaccounts/tenants as described in service plan however using SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration Preview (cgtorch-preprod) service plan customer can create one or more (maximum three) separate sub accounts to manage their development, test, quality environment.

The details of service plans vs. number of tenants are as follows:

  • SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration Demo (cgtorch-preprod2)

    Demo Tenant/Subaccount

  • SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration Preview (cgtorch-preprod) → with this plan, create minimum one tenant/subaccount however SAP provides the option to create three subaccounts with the same plan (as shown below). Create as per your business requirement.
    • Development (name it as per your choice)
    • Testing (optional)
    • Quality (optional)
  • SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration Preview Validation (cgtorch-prerelval)

    Hotfix (Mandatory)

  • SAP Cell and Gene Therapy Orchestration (cgtorch)

    Production (Mandatory)

Creating BTP Global Account/Subaccounts

Create a Global Account

To create Global account, follow the step-by-step guide available via Managing Global Accounts Using the Cockpit.

If a customer has already a global account, then same global account can be used also. It depends upon the customer's choice to work with one or multiple global accounts as per their business needs.

Create Sub accounts

To create a subaccount, follow the step-by-step guide available via Managing Subaccounts Using the Cockpit.

While creating a subaccount, provide a meaningful sub-domain description for your subaccount. This will become part of the URL for accessing applications that you subscribe to from this subaccount.

Now, you know about the service plan and decided your landscape setup that is, how many subaccounts to be setup. Use the standard BTP documentation links to create global and subaccounts.

Note that you’re assigned to the Administrator role to carry out the setup.

The figure above, Reference View - Global Account (Feature Set B), is a reference image provided of the global account with two directories and four subaccounts (feature set B) for clarity purpose. However, customers can create multiple directories as per their own choice and assign the subaccounts accordingly.
