Overview and Prerequisites
There are important prerequisites to onboarding and implementing SAP Intelligent Agriculture.
Similar to all other SAP SaaS solutions built on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), you have to follow key steps to onboard the solution:
- You must have an SAP Intelligent Agriculture Subscription – Within the SAP BTP Control Center you can create the subscription so it become available in your Global Account*.
- You must have an SAP BTP Subaccount – this is where the application will be instantiated. You can either have a dedicated subaccount for SAP Intelligent Agriculture or share the subaccount with other applications.
- You must have an SAP Identity Authentication tenant – SAP Intelligent Agriculture uses Identity Authentication Service (IAS)) as identity provider (IdP).
- You need Administrator access with Manage Users authorization to your Identity Authentication tenant to be able to configure all the necessary steps.
Check out the help documentation on Onboarding with the SAP BTP Cockpit for more details: SAP Help Portal: Onboarding with the SAP BTP Cockpit
Note
A global account is the realization of a contract you or your company has made with SAP. A global account is used to manage subaccounts, members, entitlements and quotas. You receive entitlements and quotas to use platform resources per global account and then distribute the entitlements and quotas to the subaccount for actual consumption.
Overview of Onboarding
Here's an overview of the onboarding steps, which are broken down into two key areas:
- 1. Tenant Set Up
- Assign SAP Intelligent Agriculture to the subaccount
- Create the SAP Intelligent Agriculture instance
- Create the Service Broker instance
- 2. Authentication and User Configuration
- Add Admin user to Identity Authentication Service (IAS)
- Add IdP (IAS) in the subaccount
- Add the User Groups in the IdP
- Map the Role Collections to the User Groups
- Add User Groups to the users
