When data is loaded into SAP BW/4HANA, a characteristic may not receive values for all or a part of the data records. A report shows these values as "Not Assigned" as a description and as the Hash sign ( # ) as the technical name.
If such a characteristic is an authorization-relevant one, the analysis authorization must also contain the value #. Thus, the value # must be considered like any other real value. This value is included in the full authorization (*).
In the following example, the reporting user needs, for the characteristic Controlling area, at least the analysis authorization, including the values 1000, 2000, and #, or simply the full authorization.
