Scenario
You want to start implementing data modeling in SAP BW/4HANA.
First, you must know how to use projects for this.
Then we explain the different phases and their activities in an SAP BW/4HANA project.
For ITelO, the first two phases Project Preparation and Business Blueprint can be considered as completed. The information requirements have already been gathered, as mentioned in the first unit of this course.
The next phase is Data Model Definition. In this phase, you must know the approaches to define the data model. You learn about the datasource approach (bottom-up, what can be provided) and the key figure-based approach (top-down, what do users want).
In the top-down approach, you learn about the use of a key figure matrix and an architecture overview model related to the requirement analysis of ITelO.
You also learn about the purpose of a logical data model, which is the basis to define an SAP BW/4HANA model.
Before you create objects in SAP BW/4HANA, to use standard modeling options as much as possible, you must know about the possibilities of BI Content.
Finally, to develop data models in SAP BW/4HANA, you must know about the recommended system landscape.
