In this lesson, the general out-of-the-box capabilities of Cloud ALM for Reporting and Analytics are discussed. Therefore, two overview apps are available:
- The Project Overview.
- The Analytics Overview.
The Project Overview
The overview page provides a high-level overview of progress in different areas. It acts like a health check monitor for project and at the same time it provides connectivity to other applications for a faster drill down. Each card on overview page represent a specific topic and displays set of relevant information
You get an overview of your scenarios, processes, tasks, and test cases. You can use the quick links to navigate to relevant applications and related information.
In the Overview app, you can get an overview of scenarios, processes, tasks, and test cases for your projects, navigate to other apps, and view important KPIs.
In detail, the following options are available:
- View important KPIs for your projects.
- Navigate to other apps.
- Navigate to prefiltered lists in other apps.
- Get an overview of your project.

The figure illustrates the Project Overview page and a detailed Analytical page.

The Analytics Overview

The second app is the Analytics Overview app.
The Analytics Overview is a container for detailed analytical standalone pages, which help you with a deeper drill down into complex details. Here you will find ready to use progress reports, historical charts, and traceability matrices.
The app provides:
- Overview of scenarios, processes, tasks, and test cases.
- Quick links to navigate to relevant applications and related information.

SAP Cloud ALM for Implementation offers multiple options to cover diverse monitoring and reporting needs of different roles and team members. The integrated analytics functionality arches over project management, task management, process management, change and deploy management, and test management applications. Each application sends change events to the Analytical framework, which processes those events and turns them into meaningful information and insights in the form of dashboards and reports.
Analytics and Reporting: Detailed Analytics
- Project Progress Reporting
- Provides summarized reports about the project progress by phases or deliverables in terms of completed and remaining tasks.
- For sprints, you can view the project progress in terms of tasks or story points.
- Outlines total planned tasks, completed tasks and remaining tasks as well as phase wise distribution.
- Visualize progress in form of burn down chart or tabular data.
- Task & Requirement Distribution
- Distributions analysis allows you to monitor project progress filtered by different assignments.
- This diversification can be further used to identify gaps or impediments within highlighted areas.
- You can monitor distribution of tasks and requirements by:
- Scopes
- Teams
- Responsible Person
- Workstreams
- Traceability Analysis
- Traceability Analysis empowers you to assess readiness of your Solution Processes, Requirements, Features, and User stories.
- Readiness of an implementation object is dependent on the progress of related objects.
- Test Reporting
- Monitoring the execution status of manual and automated test cases and their corresponding defects is crucial for completion of your test event in time.
- Further drill-down capabilities help test managers as well as testers to check on progress of individual test cases and defect resolution status.
