Managing Fields, Calculations, and Layouts in SAP CPQ

Under Quote 2.0, the Fields, Calculations, and Layout setup page defines options for basic quote elements, such as quote item fields, calculations, their layout and more.

Most quote fields are calculated via one predefined formula. However, the value of some of quote fields are calculated via multiple formulas.

The Field Editability tab displays fields you can edit, including quote fields, permission groups, and the status of the quotes in which the fields are editable.

The settings to control the editability of quote item fields are found in the Field Editability tab. This setting allows you to specify the permission groups and statuses for which the particular field will be editable.

Unlike in the previous quote engine, Quote 2.0 allows the user to edit column items. By default, the fields on quotes are read-only until their editability is defined.

Quote layouts in SAP CPQ are customizable templates that define how the quotes generated in the system will look. They provide a standardized and professional design for business quotations.

In the Layout section, you can change the look and feel of quotes by reordering columns and sections or adding new ones. Navigate to the Layout tab by selecting Setup → Quote → Fields, Calculations, Layout → Layout. Under the Layout tab, all available columns are displayed in the ProductTypes and Items sections. Other columns are set to hidden in permissions. Sections can be reordered via drag-and-drop.

Under the Layout Permissions tab, permission groups are set for access to selected areas of the quote layout.
