Select an app under Customer, Offerings, and Entitlement Models to view and sync customer accounts, offerings, and contacts. We'll begin with the View Customers app. By default, the information includes the customer, source systems, customer groups, valid to, and deletion mark. The Customer column includes information about the customers themselves, such as names, contact information, transaction history, and more. This allows businesses to have a centralized, comprehensive, and up-to-date views of each customer. A significant feature is the ability to customize the customer master data through extension fields. For example, a business may need to track specific data about their customers, which isn't included in the standard fields. By using extension fields, users can add new columns and data fields to their customer EMS master data to capture this additional information. The Valid to Column is another important feature. Users can set a validity period for a customer's entitlement. If a customer's validation period is set to expire before today, the customer assistant will mark that customer has expired. This can be useful for controlling access to products or services based on the validity period. Check the checkbox next to the customer, then select the Change Validity button on the bottom of the page and make the required period changes. The deletion mark is handy as it allows users to mark a customer for deletion without deleting them right away. This can be useful if users want to review all deletions before they take place or if they need to keep the data for a certain period due to business or regulatory requirements. A background job can be set up to regularly run and delete these expired customers in batch. This helps keep the customer master data clean and up-to-date, freeing users from having to manually clean up expired data. The customer group function allows users to create and manage groups of customers within the entitlement management system. This can be useful for managing customers that have similar entitlements or have a need to be managed collectively. The View Offerings app page resembles the View Customers page. Offerings refer to the various products, services, or packages that a company offers to its customers. This might include details about the product or service, terms of use, pricing, eligibility requirements, and more. By default, View Offerings provides columns for the offering, category, source system, and deletion mark. By selecting the Maintain Extension Field button on the bottom of the page, a user can add a customized field. With the Extension Field window open, select the Add button and create a field. Select the View Contact Person app to link a person to the entitlement. The system provides two kinds of contact options, external persons and employees. Both contacts can be linked to an entitlement. Here you can also maintain extension fields and create, update, and delete a contact person.
